"If it needs saying."
DJCommunications is the brand name of David Collins, writer, author, social media addict.
You will be familiar with David if you follow football writing on the Welsh scene. You may go back a long way.
From early stumblings with a typewriter and a tank top, stints with 80s entertainment guides, through to the fanzine-dominated 90s. David has scribbled his contemplations down every step of the way.
The new millennium saw David settle down into “proper writing” making his debut in Keith Hayne’s Come on Cymru 2000. He then embarked on a series of works describing the ups and downs of life on the Welsh terraces. An anorak in sheep’s clothing, you might say.
Well, you might.
David’s writing has gone from strength to strength.
A seat in the press box. TV, radio and podcasts. Wembley. The World Cup. Yn Gymraeg hefyd. Whether collaborating with others or writing in his own right, David has established his reputation as a skilled and respected commentator and author.
It’s not all about football though. David has used his media skills to wax lyrical about his other passions, such as Christian Aid, a cause he champions to great effect.
The man himself told us:
“I was never much use at actual sports to be honest. No great shakes on the football field, wouldn’t know what to do with a rugby ball and probably couldn’t even bowl a maiden over in a Spanish night club.
But I can write about it.
I paint words with diction. I make words do tricks.
If it needs saying, then I could be your man.”
