Despite his CF23 postcode, David can also point to some memorable outings covering near neighbours Swansea City, where Sophie Davis (pictured) and the rest of the media team have always been most welcoming.

It’s generally accepted that the lads down at SA1 have been the premier Welsh side in Wales in recent years. A long run in the Premier League, Wembley silverware, play-off appearances and dominance in the South Wales derbies.

Much for the Jack Army to crow about.

David has been present with his laptop to cover many of these highlights.

Lockdown joy as the Swans triumphed at the Cardiff City Stadium, play off drama as crowds returned, and a memorable Sunday lunchtime encounter as local hero Ollie Cooper fired the Swans to yet another victory over their fierce rivals, Cardiff City.

If you are a stranger to South Wales, you may enjoy his analysis of this unique and sometimes bitter rivalry, written just a few short years ago.

With Wrexham now joining the fray and Newport County still holding their own, these are exciting times for the club scene in South Wales. Who knows, will resurgent Wrexham overtake Swansea as Top Dogs in Wales?

David will be there to find out.
