Qatar! Qatar!
Our Man in Qatar
Life in the press box sounds great doesn’t it?
The best views of the big games. Sharing a pre-match coffee with star big names who now tread the media trail. An exciting existence.
It’s not all glamour though.
For every weekend at Wembley, there is the wet night at Wycombe.
For every stint near the Royal Box, there is Rodney Parade, Newport. It’s a great venue, but it isn’t Old Trafford.
Anyone who has squashed into the press benches at Forest Green Rovers will understand this.
Sometimes though. Sometimes. It all comes good.

2022 was a watershed year for Welsh football. Wales had qualified for the finals of the World Cup for the first time since 1958. That story is told elsewhere.
But for our man David Collins, it marked his entry onto the world stage. The very heights of the global game. “Top of the World Ma!’”
David navigated the complex landscape of Hayya cards, currency and international media accreditation, to take his place at the very summit of the global media experience. Read the story of his amazing journey here.
David has risen from the 15 fame filled minutes of a fanzine writer (Billy Bragg) to a journalist recognised by global partners such as FIFA, The Football Association of Wales and US based websites.
Give him a shout if you need something saying.
