Newport County
Newport County
In some respects, Newport County might be considered by some to the be the poor relations of Welsh football.
Lacking the history of Cardiff City, the Premier League record of Swansea City or the Hollywood stardust of Wrexham, the boys at Rodney Parade might often escape the radar.
Why, even TNS and Connah’s Quay Nomads can point to silverware and regular adventures on the European stage. World Cup glory for Robert Page’s side and a growing reputation for our women’s team. All very glamorous.
David though, is most definitely not in the “Newport Who?” camp. Having worked in the city for some 11 years before moving to nearby Cwmbran, he is well aware of the power of “The Port!”
David’s writings reflect this allegiance. Whether it is recording events at Rodney Parade, following the County on their travels, looking ahead to big games or discussing the club within the wider contest of Welsh football, David will always keep a close eye on the fortunes of the men in amber.
“C’mon the Port!”
David continues to follow all aspects of Welsh football on the club scene.
